1. What the programs do with your data
BarFlow BBS and BarFlow Cutting Plan work offline. Your projects, bar lists and results stay on your computer. The programs do not upload your files and do not contain advertising or tracking. They go online only when you activate with a 16-character activation code: Cutting Plan then contacts our activation server directly, and BarFlow opens our activation web page in your browser.
2. The Computer ID
To tie a licence to one computer, each program calculates a Computer ID (for example ABCD-1234-EF56-7890) from technical characteristics of the machine (processor type and the system drive's volume number) turned into a one-way code. It contains no name, email, files or location, and it stays on your computer until you activate a licence or choose to send it to us.
3. What we receive when you buy
- Your name and email, the product bought and the order number; and, when you activate, the Computer ID of the computer, the activation code and the date and time. We use them only to create your licence code, email it to you, give support and keep a record of licences issued.
- Payment details (card, Apple Pay, PayPal) are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our seller of record; we never see or store your card number. See Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy for how they process it.
4. Where it is stored
Licence records are kept in a private Google Sheet and emails are sent from our Gmail account (Google). Only the developer has access.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data and do not share it, except with the service providers above (Lemon Squeezy, Google) as needed to deliver your order, or where the law requires.
6. Keeping and deleting
We keep licence records while the licence is valid and for a reasonable period afterwards for support and accounting. Write to us to see, correct or delete your data.
7. Website
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visits (for example your IP address) under its own privacy policy. We do not add cookies or analytics of our own.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
